About Me

I live in Newtown Square, Pa., a western suburb of Philadelphia, with my wife, Joan, and our two sons, Michael and William.

I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Management Science and Information Systems (a fancy title for “statistics and computers”) and I enjoy watching Nittany Lions football games each fall.

Clock collection

I’ve been interested in clocks and watches for as long as I can remember. My collection at home includes a 1968 grandfather clock with tubular bells, an antique mantel clock, and a few mechanical and electric wall clocks. I’m also a member of a local chapter of clock collectors.

Two additional fun facts about me:

  • As an eighth grader, I competed in the 1988 National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., where I finished in the top third of 200 finalists. (My elimination word was patronymic.)

  • I also worked on the Walt Disney World College Program in 1995. My summer job as a monorail driver earned me the alliterative nickname “Monorail Mike.”
